# Usage Tab

> Monitor product usage metrics and trends

## Overview

The Usage Tab displays product usage data synced from your data warehouse. It shows metric summaries, trend indicators, and time-series charts for each configured usage metric.

## Controls

### Time Range

Select a time range using quick presets or a custom date range:

* **Presets** - Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, Month to date, Quarter to date, Year to date
* **Custom** - Pick specific start and end dates from the calendar

### Granularity

Toggle between **Daily**, **Weekly**, or **Monthly** aggregation for all charts and data.

## Metric Summary Row

The top of the tab displays up to six usage metrics in a horizontal row. Each metric card shows:

* **Label** - Metric name
* **Current value** - Formatted with abbreviations (K, M, B)
* **Sparkline** - Micro line chart showing the trend
* **Trend indicator** - Percentage change with an up/down/flat arrow, color-coded (green for up, red for down, gray for flat)

Click a metric card to select it and highlight its chart below.

## Usage Charts

Charts render in one of two modes depending on your data:

### Product-Grouped View

When usage metrics are associated with products, they display in collapsible accordion sections grouped by product. Each product section shows:

* **Product name** and metric count
* **Metric cards** in a grid layout, each showing current value, trend, and sparkline

### Flat View

When no product grouping exists, each metric renders as an individual time-series line chart showing:

* **Chart title** - `"{Metric Label} Over Time"`
* **Trend badge** - `"Growing over {period}"`, `"Declining over {period}"`, or `"Stable over {period}"`
* **Line chart** - Smooth curve with area fill, color-coded by trend direction (green for growth, red for decline, indigo for stable)
* **Interactive tooltip** - Hover to see the date and value at any point

Charts aggregate data based on the selected granularity (daily, weekly, or monthly).
